This is a colourful selection of organic lentils and peas with brown rice. The peeled, dried yellow peas have been mechanically split to reduce cooking time. Lentils are the seed of a small shrub, popular in many countries worldwide. They have a mild, earthy flavour and a soft texture. Brown rice is whole rice with only the hull removed. Since the nutrient-dense bran and germ layers are left intact, very little nutrition value is lost in the milling process.
Organic Split peas: yellow, green. Organic lentils: French, red. Organic brown rice.
Rinse well. Add 1 part soup mix to 6 parts water. Bring to a boil for 10 minutes, then cover and simmer for 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Season with salt, soup base or vegetables.
Use this blend of organic lentils, peas, and rice as the primary ingredient of lentil soup or as a substitute in any lentil recipe.
