I noticed this as we were leaving.
We’re seeing this kind of stuff more and more in Charleston.

Who is this parking space for?
Is it for a hurting man who needs the mercy the cross offers? If so, why is there only one space?
Is it for a lost woman to show her that the cross is where she can find her way? And if so, again…why only one space?
Is it for the pastor? Maybe it’s there to remind him that the life he’s led since he last backed out of the space has not turned any eyes toward that cross.
Or is it a space left open by the people of this little church to demonstrate that Jesus is deserving of being given a place of honor?

It’s becoming clear why God has moved us here…there are too many empty parking spaces in churches.

Yesterday marked my final day of serving as the Program Director at West Ridge Church…and today marks Day 1 of an adventure in Church Planting! Annette and I will soon be packing up our lives and moving to Charleston, SC, to join some friends who are planting River Church in the West Ashley community. I will serve as Arts + Innovation Pastor.

You may have heard of him. Louie is a unique dude, and God does amazing things through him and his team at Passion. And now they’re starting a church in Atlanta.

It’s very exciting to me. But not so much in an, “Wow…THAT would be a very cool church to attend” kind of way. Rather, it’s exciting in an, “Wow…God is REALLY doing something AMAZING in the Atlanta area” kind of way.

Between things like Community Makeover Weekend in Paulding County, church planting, and some amazing churches growing and thriving in our area, it is a trip to be part of what He’s doing here. Truly something else.
